Those who want to explore the area around Berchtesgaden on their own will find spectacular routes with breathtaking views of the Alps.
The Rossfeld Panoramic Road is legendary and forms part of the German Alpine Road, which connects the Alpine valleys between Lake Constance and Königssee. A drive along Germany’s highest panoramic road offers incomparable views of the mountains. On the high plateau at an altitude of 1,600 metres, there are plenty of parking spaces for a leisurely break to enjoy the beautiful views of the Kehlstein, Untersberg, Hohen Göll and the Tennen and Dachstein mountains in peace. There is a southern ascent from the Klaushöhe on the Obersalzberg and a northern ascent from Berchtesgaden-Oberau.
With panoramic views
The entire Berchtesgadener Land region, the historic Rupertiwinkel and the neighbouring Salzkammergut offer fantastic excursions, all of which can be easily started in stages from the Naturhotel Reissenlehen. Winding mountain roads lead classic cars and their occupants to enormous heights. Remote, quiet side roads over flat hilly landscapes lead to tourist destinations and hidden, idyllic places. There are beautiful things to discover and many striking points to linger at on beautiful sections of the Alpine-Baltic Sea Route and the German Alpine Road.
Lake tour of the Salzkammergut
A tour of the Salzkammergut with its lakes is highly recommended. According to the route descriptions provided by the Naturhotel Reissenlehen, there are several beautiful stages to choose from. There is the Mattsee-Wallersee-Irrsee tour. The Fuschlsee-Wolfgangsee-Mondsee tour. And for an extended tour, Lake Hallstatt in the Dachstein Mountains is a worthwhile destination.
