Interesting excursion destinations in summer

Our hotel is the ideal starting point for exploring the charming landscape and sights of Berchtesgaden and the neighbouring Salzburg region in both summer and winter.

A worthwhile excursion destination in summer is Lake Königssee, whose emerald green waters reflect the mighty Watzmann and its peaks. A boat trip takes you to St. Bartholomä. The baroque pilgrimage chapel from the 12th century, romantically situated on a peninsula, is the landmark of Lake Königssee.

We are happy to reserve tickets for you at the hotel reception – please feel free to ask us!

High up – the mountains of the Berchtesgadener Land

Those who want to go high up will be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view from the Kehlsteinhaus on the Obersalzberg, 1,800 metres above sea level. Even the drive up to this historic site via the Kehlsteinstraße is an experience in itself.

The Jennerbahn

The same applies to the Jenner. In summer, the Jennerbahn invites you to explore the natural beauty of the Berchtesgadener Land National Park from the air and on foot. Mountains as far as the eye can see!

‘Good luck!’

is the motto for a trip to the salt mine. Explore the hidden world beneath the salt mountain as you descend into the mine. Extensive tunnels bear witness to the work of the miners, whose salt extraction still plays an important role in the Berchtesgadener Land region today.

Salzburg

Salzburg is just a stone’s throw away for a day trip. Discover this city with its many monuments and world-famous squares, which invite you to linger in the summer temperatures. Stroll from Salzburg Cathedral through the narrow streets of the old town to Getreidegasse and visit Mozart’s birthplace. A visit to the Salzburg Festival is a must for culture lovers.

A holiday for the whole family

A trip to the Watzmanntherme promises good times for the whole family. This adventure pool in Berchtesgaden offers a children’s and adventure area, a sauna world, and saltwater and sports pools, among other things. In summer, the fun continues in the spacious outdoor area.

Interesting destinations in winter

The Berchtesgadener Land region is rich in destinations not only in summer, but also in winter. You can enjoy the winter sun on a long hike. The scenic trails are regularly cleared of snow. You can also experience the winter landscape at your leisure while snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

Winter activity holidays in the Berchtesgadener Land

The Jenner, the largest ski resort in the Berchtesgadener Land, is a popular winter sports destination. Guaranteed snow from the onset of winter until spring ensures skiing fun for beginners and experienced skiers alike.

Watzmanntherme

A trip to the Watzmanntherme promises fun for the whole family. This water park in Berchtesgaden features a children’s and adventure area, a sauna world, and saltwater and sports pools.
