The local authorities, together with the national park administration and the tourist board, have also put together a wide range of mountain hikes.

Easier and more difficult guided hikes take place almost daily.

But it’s not just mountain hiking that is special in Berchtesgaden. Europe’s first via ferrata school was opened in Berchtesgaden especially for climbing. Beginners can learn how to best master the challenges of vertical climbing on practice routes at Königssee. ‘This offer is unique in Europe,’ says Michael Graßl, chairman of the Association of German Mountain Guides, whose initiative led to the opening of the ‘1st Salewa Via Ferrata School Berchtesgaden’.

Bad weather has also been taken into account. The DAV climbing hall in Berchtesgaden has been available since this year. Guests of our hotel receive a 10% discount on admission.
